Reports to Institute Communities Manager 

Word on Fire Catholic Ministries is a nonprofit global media apostolate that supports the work of Bishop Robert Barron and reaches millions of people to draw them into—or back to—the Catholic faith.

The Member Engagement Coordinator is responsible for driving member engagement and participation on the Word on Fire Institute’s community-driven, digital education platform. The Member Engagement Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for community members who have joined the Institute to be formed as evangelists in Word on Fire’s ethos. This role gathers feedback to continuously improve engagement strategies, collaborates with internal teams, and tracks key performance metrics to evaluate engagement effectiveness.

Location: Rochester, MN

Employment Type: Full-time (35 hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Implement comprehensive strategies to drive member engagement and participation on the platform
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding and expertise in the Institute’s content, utilizing this knowledge to guide members to relevant materials 
  • Organize virtual events, live seminars, and other activities to connect members, facilitate learning, and foster a sense of belonging
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for community members, providing timely assistance, addressing questions, and resolving issues to ensure a positive user experience
  • Gather feedback from community members through surveys, polls, posts, and other channels, and use insights to continuously improve engagement strategies and platform features
  • Monitor community interactions, enforce community guidelines, and foster a respectful, engaging, and charitable environment conducive to learning and formation
  • Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing team to promote Institute content to existing members; employ various engagement strategies to highlight relevant courses, events, and resources, encouraging members to explore and actively participate in the platform
  • Work closely with internal teams, including fellows, professors, editors, and the sales & marketing team, to align engagement initiatives with Institute goals and objectives
  • Extend compassionate support to members by responding to their prayer requests with empathy and care; execute live prayer streams
  • Track key performance metrics related to member engagement, participation, and satisfaction, and generate regular reports to evaluate the effectiveness of engagement efforts
  • Develop internal promotional materials for Word on Fire Institute offerings such as seminars, courses, series, and retreats
  • Create compelling copy for Word on Fire Institute events to boost member engagement or attract new membership
  • Respond to member inquiries and member introductions in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, education, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with different people
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Commitment to the mission of Word on Fire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency or proficiency in Spanish preferred
  • Experience with digital education platforms, online communities, and social media platforms
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
  • Familiarity with the work of Bishop Robert Barron and Word on Fire

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated base pay range for this position is $26.37 - $32.14 hourly (equivalent to $48,000 - $58,500 annually, based on a 35-hour, full-time work week). Word on Fire determines individual compensation on several factors, including but not limited to, experience, skills, alignment with the role’s responsibilities, and geographic location. This role may be eligible for annual merit increases based on individual performance.
